Individuals experiencing gambling-related harm may become preoccupied with gambling so that their workday is spent either in the act of gambling, planning their next opportunity to gamble, or strategizing ways to obtain money for gambling. The cost of this hidden addiction affects employers, loved ones, and even the healthcare system.

In 2000 pharmaceutical companies began heavily marketing new opioid formulations as safe, and the FDA expanded indications from “acute only” to “safe for acute and chronic pain.” Over the next 10 years, prescriptions, opioid deaths and people entering treatment quadrupled.
This webinar will provide tools to:
Fentanyl is now routinely found as an unexpected contaminant, increasingly present in “fake” pain and sedative pills and can be lethal at very low dosages. Overdose deaths in ages 10–19 are rising faster than in any other age group. Even though most drug use rates among adolescents have been trending downward over the past 10 years, emotional distress rates and suicides have been rising, making this a most vulnerable population.
Join us to become educated about current drug trends and how to provide effective self-care and stress control strategies to protect adults and the vulnerable 10–19-year-old population.

Healthcare and Social work require navigating challenging conversational topics. Using self-awareness and compassion to understand what makes topics or conversations difficult, one is able to improve effective communication and dialogue even on particularly challenging subjects.
That which is difficult may also be what is essential in fostering good mental and physical health. Unfortunately, our emotions or history can get in the way of successfully and objectively addressing challenging topics, both from the perspective of the treating professional as well as the personal perspective of a consumer or colleague. This webinar is designed to help participants consider factors in their own lives that may hinder objectivity or to identify them in the people with whom we communicate every day in order to successfully navigate or reframe any discussion.
